JOB ANNOUNCEMENT FOR TREASURER

The King County Commissioners Court is accepting applications to appoint an individual to complete the unexpired term of the retiring King County Treasurer.

The Treasurer is responsible for performing duties in accordance with State Laws and Statutes as well as departmental procedures and regulations in processing, accounting for, and reporting all King County funds in an efficient, accurate manner. Duties include receipt of funds, processing accounts payable, and processing payroll for all county employees and elected officials; including reporting of related Retirement, State and Federal payroll reports, as well as balancing General Ledger. The Treasurer is responsible for working with other Elected Officials and County Employees, including duties relating to Human Resource Services and Employee Benefits.

Applicants seeking this position should have knowledge of administrative responsibilities and practices, background in accounting, knowledge of a working budget, and experience working with Windows 10 and computer software including, Excel, Microsoft Word, and Accounting Software. Applicants should have good oral and written communication skills, be highly skilled in computer operations and operation of office equipment including copiers, scanners, calculators, and fax machines, as well as excellent organizational, accounting/bookkeeping, document management, and record keeping skills.

     Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements to serve for public office, which include:

          (a) must have lived in the State of Texas for twelve (12) months; and

          (b) must have lived in King County for six (6) months.

In accordance with Governor Abbott's executive order GA-18, the following are the minimum recommended health protocols for all individuals in Texas, as put forth by the Texas Department of State Health Services:

Maintain at least 6 feet separation from another within the same household, If such distancing is not feasible, other measures such as face covering, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, cleanliness, and sanitation should be rigorously practiced. A hand hygiene station is located inside the courthouse for your convenience.

Self-screen before going into a business for any of the following new or worsening signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19:

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pains
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Diarrhea
  • Feeling Feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit

Wash or disinfect hands upon entering a business and after any interaction with employees, other customers, or item in the business.

 Consistent with the actions taken by many individuals across the state, consider wearing cloth face covering (over the nose and mouth) when entering a business, or when within 6 feet of another person who is not a member of the individual's household. If available, individuals should consider wearing non-medical grade face masks. Face masks are available for your convenience.
